Bynda (Parade or Yarning Circle)
Bynda means to sit down in Bidjara language. As part of our reciprocal and respectful process, jarjums organise and chair Bynda. It is a time where everyone sits down in a circle, gets to have their say and have a yarn about what has been happening at Hymba Yumba for the week. During our weekly Bynda time, jarjums are selected to receive awards and prizes for achievement and attendance, acknowledging their efforts towards our Respect Principles. In the tradition of their peoples, jarjums are encouraged to show Respect for Self, Family, Community and Country.
Bynda time is important for our jarjums as it is a space where they can really embrace their leadership skills and confidence.
